Our ingredients are whole and pure. The goat's milk comes from our own goats. Honey used in some of our recipes is raw and from the Weavil's bees of Bee Blossom Farms a local North Carolina farm in Pfafftown. Herbs included in the soaps are purchased from local farmer's markets and the eggshells included in our Nitty Gritty soap come from our own Rhode Island Red hens. The Cherokee brand cornmeal that is used in our cornmeal soap comes from King Roller Mills, a local mill in our area. We predominately use only natural 100% essential oils. No artificial colors are added either. When you use our soaps, you are getting the quality you expect with pure fresh ingredients.
Why Are Goat's Milk Soaps Important?
Goat's milk has excellent moisturizing qualities and has been heralded throughout the ages as a skin softener. It is unique in its natural ability to moisturize, nourish and retain its goodness in your skin - - a pure, natural beauty aid. Milk is the natural cosmetic.
Soaps made with milk are protein rich. This makes milk-based soaps a favorite for delicate complexions.
Milk also has lots of Vitamin A, which is converted from carotene by the liver. Carotene levels vary according to the goat's diet. Goats that graze on lush, springtime green pastures produce milk that is higher in carotene. High levels cause the milk to be off-white or a creamy yellow. Our goats are free range grazers and are not "dry lotted" giving them access to grasses.
Milk is an important source of minerals. It contains calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus and small amounts of other minerals such as lithium and strontium.
